Hi, my name is Lisa Barrick. I've been a Registered Nurse for over thirty years. I'm a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association and certified in the Core Curriculum of Cannabis Nursing. I also have avid experience in health-coaching, and am well versed in many aspects of holistic nutrition.

My vision for the good that can come from cannabis is to see improvement in patient’s symptoms, perhaps a reversal of certain chronic inflammatory conditions and cancer/tumors, and an overall acceptance of the numerous benefits that cannabis can provide.

Tide’s High Consulting

I recently founded Tide’s High Consulting as a result of the paradigm shift of medical cannabis being used to replace, or work in adjunct with, traditional pharmaceutical medications and therapies. There has been a growing number of Americans who believe cannabis to be an effective treatment option, and there is compelling evidence that exists to support this claim. The political landscape is transforming as well, and as time progresses, the stigma behind cannabis usage continues to wane. However, the current laws can be very confusing, many don’t know what they must do in order to gain access to their cannabis medication in a manner that adheres to those laws. Not only that, but as the number of cannabis products available on the market today grows exponentially, it can quickly leave one confused and intimidated.

I can help you make sense of it all, and give you the knowledge to make informed decisions about how to safely and responsibly include cannabis in your medical regimen, and answer any of those questions that may arise.

Medical Background

I have been a registered nurse since 1988, with nearly 30 years of diverse experience with a specialty in medical surgical and HIV/AIDS nursing, Utilization Review of major radiological imaging studies (CT scans, MRIs, PET scans, and nuclear imaging), case management, clinical care coordinator with post hospital discharge follow up, medication reconciliation, and extensive medical chart review, health coaching and patient education.

Cannabis Specialty

I became interested in cannabis as a treatment method when I began to see the detrimental effects of pharmaceutical drugs which are often being used to treat lifestyle diseases and chronic pain. The addictive qualities of prescription opioids and the harmful side effects of common drugs to treat inflammatory diseases. I have personally used cannabis and can testify to its curative nature and efficacy.

I received my cannabis nursing certificate through the accredited courses offered by the American Cannabis Nurses Association. The course entails the knowledge of the history of cannabis, ECS endocannabinoid system, medical applications of cannabis, safe use of cannabis, patient interaction with the medical system, state and federal criminal/legal sanctions to patients, state and federal criminal/legal sanctions to Nurses, cultivation, handling, and storing cannabis.
